Julie Carter

An equal love of words and antiques means Julie is in her perfect profession...
Julie Carter

She began working in the antiques publishing industry in 1984, on the magazine Illustrated Antique Trader. Back then there were no computers and everything was created by hand on layout boards. More than thirty years later she still loves the excitement of creating a regular magazine - and producing the inaugural Carter Sisters Handbook!

Julie and her sister Christine have been producing their own magazine, Antiques and Collectables for Pleasure & Profit, since 2004. Julie is editor, writer and designer, and Christine is in charge of advertising and image design and production. They worked together to create the Carter Sisters Handbook, following in the publishing footsteps of father Alan Carter.

A mad keen horsewoman, long distance runner (plodder!) and concert-goer, Julie and her husband Trevor live on the mid-north coast with three dogs, three horses and two guinea pigs (don't ask!).

Julie's Quote

Her most used sentence is, 'Just get on with it.'
